Dental fillings restore teeth affected by decay, wear or trauma. The case shown here is a common one at our clinic: front teeth chipped and fractured after an accidental knock or fall. Because the break sits in the smile line, the repair is both functional and cosmetic — we rebuild the missing edge layer by layer with tooth-coloured composite, shaping and polishing it until the restored tooth matches the shade, translucency and contour of the teeth beside it. The same technique repairs cavities, worn biting edges and old discoloured fillings.
